ПТС-10 Plavayushchij Transportyer – Sryednyj (Amphibious carrier – medium)
It was designed mainly to transport a landing force, armoured carriers, wheeled or tracked movers and artillery during assault crossing of water obstacles. A 2-member crew consisting of a driver - mechanic and a commander. Useful weight : 10 tons. Dry land operation was ensured by tracks, and in-water operation, by 2 propellers.
Production began in the first half of the 1960s and as soon as the prototype was tested, serial production began. The vehicle was used both in the Soviet Union and in the Warsaw Pact Member States.
