Schützenpanzer SAURER 4K 4FA - an armoured carrier on a tracked chassis. Its development began in the mid 1950s and it was made for the Austrian Army by the Saurer-Werke company (in 1970 it was renamed to Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG). The total production volume was 445 vehicles in all the versions. The armour was designed to resist 20 mm armour-piercing projectiles in the event of being hit in its front part.
Thanks to the dismounted turret, the vehicle profile is lower, which makes detection more difficult. This version was used as an artillery observation post - reconnaissance - command vehicle. The original space designed for an 8-member landing party was replaced by a bench for a 4-member crew operating the observation equipment.
Its development began in the 1950s and was realized for the Austrian Army by the Saurer-Werke company (in 1970 it was renamed to Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG).
The vehicles are in very good condition. The SAURER control, in comparison with other tracked carriers, is controlled by a steering wheel and it has an automatic 5-speed + reverse gearbox. The vehicle is able to turn on the spot. Very easy to operate.
