In its central part there was a manually-operated turret with equipment, a central tyre inflation system, decontamination equipment, a winch and a navigation system. An interesting detail is a pair of wheels, placed in the central part of the vehicle, designed for getting over trenches and to help improve its off-road capability in general.
It was developed to substitute the BRDM1.
